Stop procrastinating!
Writing, and designing are iterative processes. You're not always gonna get it perfect the first time, so stop trying.
Just go ahead and write that line you're thinking about, or lay down that design and fix what's wrong later.
It is easier to fix something concrete that you can see and share with others for input than an idea in your head.

If you're facing the block, stop trying to get thru it, and you might get thru it faster.
Often the best way to get thru the block is to stop thinking about it.
Go for a walk, take a shower, or play a video game, whatever your find relaxing. Give yourself sometime to relax and think about other things.
You may find your solution while away from your desk as your mind wanders, or returning to your work a fresh perspective may bring you a quick solution to your block.

According to Wikipedia "Writers Block" is:
the phenomenon in which a writer temporarily loses the capability to continue writing. It is characterised by the loss of inspiration or confidence in creativity.
This phenomenon is not restricted to just writers. Developers, designers, and writers, all succumb to pressure to create.
There are many theories about the reason for the blockage, and even more idea's to help you BEAT THE BLOCK, which we will be covering in more detail in the future.

So the website isn't quite finished yet, but it is complete enough to open the doors and give you a sneek peak. So what's this all about?
I have been building websites for over 10 years, having worn many hats: writer; designer; and developer. Even with all the experience I still face the dreaded 'writers block'.
You sit and stare at the computer screen trying to create that new look, or write the post, or code that new component, without a clue why you're having so much trouble.
In those cases you need a little inspiration, looking at examples of what other people have done can the spark to get you thru the block. There are many sites that offer just that, galleries of 1000's of examples of great web designs, lines and lines of code, and more words than you could read in a lifetime.
Beat The Block is a portal to those galleries, tagged so make sure you can find the just the inspiration you're looking for. We're also aiming to provide information on other techniques for finding your way out of the blockage.
